There are only sixty more days left until I will be a married man. As the day approaches (very quickly) we grow more anxious. It is a very exciting time as you may be able to imagine. Stress is also setting in. We still have quite a bit to do to the house, but this is not where the stress lies. The details of the ceremony have proven to be stressful though neither of us has an idea of what exactly we want. Perhaps that's the cause of the stress. We think we're just going to put it into the hands of the florist and the caterer to take care of their stuff and I believe Kim Messer is going to help with some ideas. There are just a lot of things to think about. Also, in trying to know what to do with bringing all of our existing stuff together has been thought provoking to say the least. Things like bank accounts, cell phones, health insurance, etc...
On another note, we have received many of our gifts already, which is so exciting. Allison had her first shower given by the ladies at work, who have a huge regard for Allison. We received some very nice things and we are very gracious. I would go into detail but i'm a guy and I do not know the details...sorry. We also had our shower given by NGBC and I was blown away by the great gifts we received. My church home is so dear to me and I appreciate each thoughtful gift given. I am sure Allison will grow as fond of this church as I am. I know that they all have welcomed her as one of us.
I wish I could write more, but I must get to work.
In Christ Alone,
Derrick
Hello!
ReplyDeleteI don't know where exactly I found this page, probably through some google search about the topic wedding, but I started to read your blog. I'm a wife to be, and actually I will be a wife in two weeks, and I'm also a believer, so that's why your writings caught my eye. I wish you all the best!
Derrick, you are so goofy! I guess thats why we get along so great. I love having you as my youth pastor to be.
