Following God's Leading

Some exciting news to post. Allison and I will soon be members of Lost Mountain Baptist Church. After a few months long application and interview process, the church voted me unanimously to be their new Children's Minister.

Allison and I are very excited at the prospect while at the same time are somewhat sad to leave or church home. This is especially difficult for me concerning I have been attending New Georgia since I was a sixth grader.

My responsibilities there are not much different than the ones I already had at NGBC. But I am not leaving NGBC because I am unhappy or wanting a change of responsibilities or a change of anything for that matter. I am leaving NGBC because, through prayer, I feel God has lead me to Lost Mountain.

I will miss everyone dearly at New GA and plan to visit as often as possible. However, I am excited to meet the folks over at LMBC and get to know them and serve them and their children. Please pray for Allison and myself, i'm certain we will need it. For one, i'm going to need a good memory.

Have any questions or want to send your prayers for us? Please feel free to email @ dsfielder@gmail.com or contact me through facebook or twitter (@dsfielder).

  1. Derrick,
Congratulations to your lovely wife Allison and to yourself for acquiring such a respectable and needed position as the youth minister at LMBC. I'm sure that your faithfulness to not only NGBC and the congregation as a whole there, but also to the word of God and the unending passion you bring to the table every time you preach, teach, and sing will serve you more than efficiently in your new endeavours. Although we haven't known each other for very long, as an objective viewer, I see the impact in which these characteristics have had on the children in our church.

May you and yours maintain the blessings of God
